Cleansing waters

Water cleans us. We all know that! Everyday we bathe or shower to clean our bodies and we know to wash our hands and our food before we eat. Yet, there is something more about water.
We are all born from water. We grow in the waters of our mother's womb and from the waters of our Earth Mother is where all life was born. Water has sparked life and sustains life, for nothing can live without water. So what does this powerful element have to tell us?
I have learnt that the waters are here to clean and nourish new life. When the rain comes, the water washes negative energy from our cities and villages, and with this cleansing power she creates space for beauty to flourish and love to prevail. Each droplet brings the opportunity for new life. New seedlings are born, new leaves from trees can blossom and new veggies can grow, all in a perfect cycle for sustaining life on Mother Earth. Similarly, rivers, streams and waterfalls wash away our lands, taking soil from one place to bring nourishment to another. They are part of a system of reciprocity where nature from one land can provide to another land.
The rivers all flow back to the water womb of Mother Earth, our oceans. The waters where all life was born. Earth, as a nurturing mother is always there to hear us and heal us. I believe we have all felt the powers of the oceans, when great waves crash onto us and we can't help but feeling vulnerable and small beyond its mighty force. This is our Earth Mother, a powerful conscious being.
Take a moment to feel that energy the next time you meet the oceans. This powerful energy is able to heal you, to cleanse you. You can bring your sorrows, your doubts and pains, and ask the waters to wash them away. The same applies to our rivers, streams, waterfalls and rain. They are part of the living consciousness of our Earth Mother and they are always listening with an open heart.
Still, our waters are suffering. Our human ways have led to polluted waters and the result of that is that all life suffers. All life forms depend on our clean waters, including human life. As an act of reciprocity, return to her the gift of life by taking care of her. In your home and your daily routine, treat the waters as a friend rather than a commodity. Treating her with care and reverence.
I have learnt in my journey to pray for the waters. I can't stop all pollution happening in the world, but I can pray for the waters to heal and restore its balance and beauty. Mother Earth and her waters heal us and we can help heal her by praying. I know she is listening to us, and I deeply believe she returns with gratitude.
